ABOUT

When I moved to New York City in 2018, I was working a finance job by day. To bring more creativity and joy into my after work hours, I hosted dinners for friends and family on my Upper West Side roof. With each dinner came a further appreciation for cooking and hospitality. In the Fall of 2021, I pivoted to pursue a career in the food/restaurant industry.

The process of cooking brings me to a state of flow. Whether it’s cooking on the line, preparing dinner for me and my partner, or hosting friends at my apartment, I find joy in the creation of delicious dishes. I cook food that makes people feel nourished and happy. I’ll know I’ve succeeded when I hear an audible reaction upon first bite. When people ask me my favorite cuisine or dish to cook, I can’t help but say anything other than “sandwiches.” A good sandwich balances crunch, cream, savory, and acid, and I love experimenting to create that balance.

While I love to incorporate vegetables and herbs from my garden into my home cooking and catering, Gaby’s Garden extends beyond the physical space. It represents my desire to share my cooking and hospitality with others. Thank you for joining me in this space - I’m excited to have you here in Gaby’s Garden.
